Brian Ludwig, MD

Brian J. Ludwig, MD received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University of Science and Technology with a minor in Biology. He then matriculated to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, where he completed a Doctor of Medicine graduating as member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

Dr. Ludwig completed an orthopaedic surgery residency  at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics and served as the administrative chief resident during his last year of residency.  Following residency, Dr. Ludwig accepted a fellowship appointment to the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ASMI) under the direction of Dr. James Andrews. While at ASMI, he served as the assistant team physician for Jacksonville State University, Tarrant High School and the Chicago White Sox affiliate Birmingham Barons AA baseball team. He also assisted in the care of numerous other high school, collegiate, and professional athletes.

Dr. Ludwig is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopaedic Association Emerging Leaders Program.

Dr. Ludwig is married with three children and enjoys spending time with family, all sports and the outdoors.
