Rothman Orthopaedic Institute Partners with BIG EAST Conference

Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, an affiliate of Northwell Health, agreed to a two-year partnership with the BIG EAST Conference. As part of the agreement, Rothman becomes the official orthopaedic physicians of the BIG EAST while Northwell Health becomes the official hospital partner of the conference. The agreement kicked off last week at the BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Tournament at Madison Square Garden.

“We are happy to be partnering with the BIG EAST,” said Alexander R. Vaccaro, MD, PhD, MBA, President of Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, Richard H. Rothman Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics, and Professor of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University and Hospitals. “The BIG EAST tournament is synonymous with New York City so we felt it is was a good opportunity to further introduce ourselves to the fans who live and work in the area. We look forward to working with the conference and its member institutions to provide the student-athletes with the best orthopaedic care possible.”

“This is a perfect partnership for both organizations,” said Anthony A. Romeo, MD, Chief of Orthopaedics, Rothman Orthopaedic Institute – New York. “Rothman Orthopaedics has a long history of providing care to top athletes everywhere. We look forward to sharing our best practices and latest research with the conference and its players and staff.”

Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, one of the largest orthopaedic practices in the nation, recently expanded into New York City and its suburbs, including two locations in northern New Jersey. During this expansion Rothman formed a relationship with Northwell Health to bring elite orthopaedic care to the people of the New York metro area.
