Great description of a calf strain. It's exactly what I must have. I had mild discomfort in the area at the base of the right calf up to the center of the calf. This morning I was lifting flower pot weighing about 60 - 70 lbs. when I had a sudden sharp pain in the same area of my calf. Immediately it became very painful and difficult to walk. I tried stretching (to late). I walked carefully on it all day. Each time I would sit for a time it would be stiff and painful when I stood and walked. I am home now and am icing.
