Thanks for your help Mike. I play 2 times week and have not seen a PT. Resting is hard because I love the game and my doubles group. You have some great suggestions and I will seek out some extra help before the needle. Thanks so much!

Gloria, Have you tried PT? Are you a tennis player? If so, have you been playing or resting? If playing have you adjusted your racket grip or string tension? Basically I'm saying there are a lot of factors that can affect the mechanics of the elbow, and therefore many reasons why your pain may be chronic. In my experience, good physical therapy combined with adequate rest is more effective than cortisone, however; with stubborn inflammation and pain, cortisone can sometimes be the factor that pushes patient's over the top of the recovery hill. If you would like to discuss this more please contact me at mikescott.dpt@gmail.com. Mike Scott, DPT Twitter: mscottdpt

Does anyone have experience with cortisone injections for tennis elbow? I'm thinking about it because I've been hurting for many months.

Good comment Mike and biomechanics is always important and looking at the entire body and not just the site of the injury

Great video. I like Dr. Donatelli's comments on SHOULDER strengthening, not just focussing on the site of the injury. Mike Scott, DPT Twitter: mscottdpt
