Dr. Brian Ludwig is a sports medicine specialist with OrthoIndy in Indianapolis, Indiana. He specializes in the comprehensive care of the athlete. Dr. Ludwig ‘s interests include open and arthroscopic care of the shoulder, elbow and knee.
Dr. Ludwig completed his undergraduate degree at Iowa State University graduating with distinction with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a minor in biology. He then attended the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, graduating a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Ludwig then pursued his residency training at the University of Wisconsin. He served as the chief orthopaedic resident during his final year of training. After finishing his residency, he then completed a one-year sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship under the direction of Dr. James Andrews, Dr. William Clancy, Dr. E. Lyle Cain and Dr. Jeffery Dugas. While at ASMI, Dr. Ludwig was the assistant team physician for Jacksonville State University and Tarrant High School. He also assisted in the care for numerous high school, collegiate and professional athletes.
